I have been making hand-built ceramics for more than 20 years. During this time, I have experimented with watercolour, pastels, acrylics, fabric, paper, and other mixed media, but clay has always remained my forte.
I make one-off, hand-built ceramics by coiling, pinching, pressing or using slabs mainly from stoneware clays and finish them with metal oxides.
Texture and earthy, muted tones in eroded surfaces, natural objects, shells, stones, leaves, and bones fascinate me. I am not so much interested in functionality: my work is an exploration of shape and texture.
